Scientist Aubrey

When we learned which materials Aubrey had in front of him, we were curious about the eggs, salt and plastic cups.  What was he going to show us?

Aubrey challenged us to make a set of predictions, he took many from the class.  He talked about why one glass had water and how he was adding salt to the second cup.  We saw him drop the egg into the first glass and it sank.  Some of his classmates thought that the second egg would attract the salt to the shell of the egg, some thought it would crack when it hit the saltwater and some thought that the egg might sink in the water.

Aubrey dropped the egg into the cup of saltwater, it sank.

He talked to us about density of water, how the saltwater was more dense and it had "floating pwer" to help keep the egg afloat.
