Rock and Roll, bubble gum and jukeboxes

On Friday students in Kindergarten marked their 50th day at school in tribute to the era of the 1950's.
We looked on a video that taught us about how music used to be played on these large, black round discs called records. A small , little needle works with the arm to play the music.  A jukebox has many records inside of it and you press a button to choose which song you want to play.  Here is a video that we watched.

A jukebox that plays The Beatles

Miss Maynes brought in some music from her Dad's car for us to listen to and dance to that morning.  Here are some picture of us dancing to music.

In Math, we made collections of 50 using our counters.   The easiest way to do this was to line up counters in rows of 10.  We needed 5 rows of 10.

Working together in Kindergarten to create a wreath for Remembrance Day

We were so happy to have had these two Kindergarten representatives carry our wreath in the processional this morning at the school assembly.  Each child in Kindergarten worked with a friend to create the tissue paper poppies that were later combined into one large wreath.  We worked together with wishes for peace in our hearts while thinking about the brave heroes who give up lots of fun and happy parts of their lives as they travel to other countries to help other people.

Halloween Party Pictures to share with families

Halloween Fun

The Kindergarten friends had a great time carving pumpkins with their Grade 12 Buddies.  Thank you buddies for being so thoughtful by bringing a pumpkin for your Kinderbuddy to carve and then take home.
