Sawyer had 4 eggs and one simple question: Is that egg raw or hard boiled? Sawyer told us that all we had to so was spin the egg to find out. The class made all kinds of predictions of how this would help us know. Sawyer then showed us how you spin the egg on its side and then let it go. If it keeps spinning it's the raw egg and if it stops it's the hard boiled. Sawyer explained that the raw egg keeps spinning because it still has liquid inside. When you hold the egg the liquid keeps spinning. When you release the egg the spinning liquid inside keeps the egg turning. It was an egg-cellent experiment.
